Domain Name
The Domain Name is your address on the Internet.
Once Registered with the controlling body it is yours provided you renew it every
two years.
Sample:
www.cub.com.au is the domain name of Carlton
United Brewery
The '.com' indicates it is a commercial site, others include .net,.org,.gov
The '.au' indicates it is registered in Australia
There are rules for Domain
names.
- They cannot be a Proper
Noun, eg Mary, Sydney
- They must be closely related
to your registered business name.
- eg. Calypso Campervan Rentals
- campervanrentals
- campervan_rentals
- calypsocampervans
- calypso-campervan-rentals
- campervanhire
- etc should all be
valid, but the controlling body has the last say.
